Tonny Asafo-Agyei

Tonny Asafo-Agyei had his Senior Secondary School Certificate in Science at Saint Augustine’s College, Cape Coast, Ghana in the year 2004. He proceeded to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree (2009) in Plant and Environmental Biology and a Master of Philosophy degree (2012) in Plant Taxonomy both at the Department of Plant and Environmental Biology of the University of Ghana, Legon. He is the author of 11 research articles, two books and one electronic herbarium dataset of medicinal plants. His research interests are in the areas of Plant taxonomy, plant biodiversity conservation, ethnobotany, pharmacognosy and herbal medicine and biodiversity informatics. He was the Head of the Plant Development Department at the Centre for Plant Medicine Research, Mampong Akuapem, from 2019-2022.  He is currently offering his PhD in Plant Taxonomy in the Plant and Environmental Biology Department of the University of Ghana and also working as a Research Scientist at the Center for Plant Medicine Research, Mampong Akuapem. His hobbies are playing pool(billiards) and washing his car.
