The fonio cooking series is long lasting cooking and food tasting show that seeks to promote making healthy meals with our indigenous food items and alternatives to imported food. It’s a way to help us to fall in love with our own local foods as Africans and also to bring back lost foods , the name was chosen because fonio grain is versatile and I have come to fall in love with this amazing grain for my healing and also the nourishment of my clients over the years, other ingredients we will be focusing on is baobab fruit, dawadawa fruit, tamarind fruit, seasonal fruits, millet varieties, yam varieties, cocoa, breadfruit, cassava, sea weeds, bean varieties, tigernuts, coconuts, melon seeds varieties (Agushie) hempseeds etc.
The first part of this series starts in Oct and class will be held at galaxy bar and grills, Accra, but we hoping this class will take us outside of Accra and our comfort zones and more facilitators will be invited to lead as where we go.
